GRAINS
Different Types of Grain are made by different feed companies. Each feed company adds different amounts of additives to their feed, making each one slightly different than the rest. Some popular feed companies include Purina, Southern States and Producers Pride. Purina's feed list includes Ultimun, Athelete Horse Feed, Equine Junior, Equine Adult, Equine Senior, Horse Chow, Omolene, Horsemans Edge, Strategy, Natures Essentials. Southern States makes a long line of 10%, 14%, Growth formula, Senior Formula in the line of Legends and Triple Crown Horse Feeds. Producers Pride inludes a line of 10%, 12% and 14% horse feeds. Research on your half needs to be done to find out what your horse needs in terms of protiens, fats and vitamins. Read the ingredients, they are in put on the bag in the order of the amount put into the feed. For instance, if the first ingredient on the tag is corn...than that is what is used the most in the grain.

VITAMINS When it comes to your choices in vitamins for your horses, you have ALOT of research to do! You can get your all -n-one type vitamins like Show n Go, Focus, Focus Sr., Source, Vita-Plus, Grand Complete, Accel and Check Mate. Along with vitamins, you have your minerals and specific additives for what ever your horses may need for their line of work. Most of your complete horse feeds that you buy are regulated to have a complete listing of the vitamins and mineral that are already in the feed. By adding more vitamins, you risk overdosing your horse in Selinium...a deadly thing to do! If you mix your own feeds, then you need to know what minerals and vitamins those grains have naturally, so you know what you can add and what you need to add. So, do your research before you begin adding things to your horses feed.
