TNT Stables offers three different Summer Day-Camp programs for children of all ages. These camps are typically 3 days long (Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday) from 9:00 am until 1:00 pm. Some camps may start as early as 8am, or last for more than 3 days. Our beginner camps are a great way for children who are unfamiliar with horses to get a head start on horse know-how, all while having fun and making friends. Some of our other programs are designed for the more experienced rider to be challenged both in and out of the saddle, as well. They will learn horse terminology and important riding and safety skills. All the details of our camps are provided below. If you have any questions, please contact us. We are happy to answer any questions you may have regarding our camp programs or other services!

Beginner Day-Camp (3 day camp)

Description (most appropriate for children ages 5 through 10):
¤   We will be running two beginner camps in June this year. The first camp will take place June 13th through the 15th and the second camp will run June 20th through the 22nd. Both camps will be from 9am-1pm each day.
¤   All camps include fun filled games and activities focused on building important team work skills. Children will be involved in competitions and have to accomplish different tasks and reach certain goals in an attempt to win prizes for their team. These fun, positive activities encourage the development of important life skills in each child. Awards will be given to all children at the end of day 3. These awards will highlight their talents, triumphs and accomplishments.
¤   Each camp includes, along with plenty of fun games and contests, an arts and crafts project for each child. Everyone is encouraged to explore their creative side while painting ponies, making sand art necklaces, or designing their very own visor!
¤   A good ‘Horsie-education’ is very important at camp. Children will be taught the different parts to a saddle, the anatomy of a horse, important riding and safety skills, as well as how to catch, lead, tie and groom their own pony! Camp is an excellent jump start for any beginner thinking about taking riding lessons, and for every dreamer hoping to own their own horse or pony someday.

Every child planning to attend camp must come prepared with the appropriate attire as described below:

Riding paddock boots: A well fitting boot with a heel that is made of durable leather and is open at the ankle for proper flexion. Old tennis shoes may be worn in place of boots, but no other type of footwear will be allowed.

Riding helmet: If you do not have a riding helmet, one may be available by us for your child’s temporary use while at camp. However, we cannot guarantee fit or availability, and if we cannot fit your child, they will be excluded from all riding activities. Riding helmets cannot be substituted by any other type of helmet.

Change of clothes: A change of clothes is recommended for every child to bring as many of our activities require them getting dirty or wet! We highly recommend packing a bag with a bathing suit, extra socks and shoes, crocs or sandals and a towel as well. Camp is a messy place! Children are not required to wear denim jeans for riding, and shorts made of most materials are fine to wear. It is recommended to stay away from slick materials like spandex as this can cause children to slide out of their saddles when riding.

Sack Lunch and Liquids: Children are encouraged to bring a sack lunch to eat during their stay at camp. It is strongly recommended to pack extra water or sports drinks along with their meal since they will be spending the entire 4 hours of camp in the heat each day. We do NOT allow any type of soda, and strongly warn against packing sugar filled juice drinks, as those types of beverages can be dehydrating, and dehydration can lead to heat related sicknesses in your child.

Extras: Sunscreen is a MUST!!!! Bug spray is also highly recommended. We don't mind re-applying it throughout the day to your child if you leave it with us.

Intermediate Rider Day-Camp (4 day camp)

Description (most appropriate for children ages 9 through 15, who have had consistent, quality riding instruction for 2 or more years):
¤   This Camp will take place June 27th through the 30th, from 8am until 2pm each day.
¤   Our intermediate rider camp is a more riding focused camp designed to challenge riders who are already established in basic riding principles. They will have opportunities to ride through patterns, courses and in styles they may be unfamiliar with. This camp is a great way to expose established riders to the limitless possibilities with horses beyond what they have already learned.
¤   Each camp includes, along with plenty of fun and positive games and contests, an introduction to all the hard work it takes to really care for a horse, including tips on training, basic horse body language and communication, basic veterinary and first aid care, safety beyond the saddle and more.

Every child planning to attend camp must come prepared with the appropriate attire as described below:

Riding paddock boots: A well fitting boot with a heel that is made of durable leather and is open at the ankle for proper flexion. No other type of footwear will be allowed.

Riding helmet: Each participant is required to bring their own ASTM certified riding helmet for use during the camp. They are welcome to leave their helmets at the barn during their week at camp.

Clothes: Proper riding apparel such as breeches/jodhpurs or blue jeans is required. Half chaps are recommended. It is highly recommended that each participant pack a change of clothes, including a pair of shorts and extra socks, and a towel to help clean up after a hard days work.

Sack Lunch and Liquids: Participants are encouraged to bring a sack lunch to eat during their stay at camp. It is strongly recommended to pack extra water or sports drinks like Gatorade or Vitamin Water (which contain the necessary electrolytes needed to keep your child hydrated during camp) along with their meal and plenty of water since they will be spending the entire 4 hours of camp in the heat each day. We do NOT allow any type of soda, and strongly warn against packing sugar filled juice drinks, as those types of beverages can be dehydrating, and dehydration can lead to heat related sicknesses in your child.

Extras: Sunscreen and bug spray is required.

Toddler Day-Camp

Description (most appropriate for children ages 3 through 5):
¤   This Camp will take place June 6th through 8th, 9am-1pm.
¤   All camps are centered around positive, fun filled games and activities with an emphasis on safety and following directions. These activities encourage learning through experience in each child through toddler specific games and activities both in and out of the saddle.

Every child planning to attend camp must come prepared with the appropriate attire as described below:

Closed toed shoes: A well fitting paddock boot is difficult to find for children in this age range, which is why we accept alternate footwear like children's boots, athletic shoes, or anything that is durable, easy to walk in, and closed/tough at the toe. No other type of footwear will be allowed.

Riding helmet: If you do not have an ASTM certified riding helmet, one may be available by us for your child’s temporary use while at camp. However, we cannot guarantee fit or availability, and if we cannot fit your child, they will be excluded from all riding activities. Riding helmets cannot be substituted by any other type of helmet.
